Permit of stay – Permesso di soggiorno

Within eight days from entering Italy with a visa, the visa holder must apply for the permit of stay. The application is usually made at the post office filling in some forms included in the postal kit provided by the post office and including some documents according to the type of permit of stay required. The application is addressed to the local Questura, which is the authority entitled to process these applications and grant the permits.
